Dave Cofell's NEW First Page!!!

A short introduction to my website

I don’t know why you would be, but if you are interested in seeing what my original welcome page looked like click here. This is the new and... uh... different welcome page. It has been more than 5 years since I launched this website and here are a few of the comments that I have received via Emial concerning this website-

I really enjoyed your essay for January.
Joe, at least, knew what he was doing.
...scrumblebrains.......you got 'em!
...go bugger a pinata.
You're incorrigible!
...so slow...
It's better than being on fire, though.
...can kiss ma pahtooty
...lost in space as it were
yes, please go
do taxidermy -- what a loser!
Would it be ok with You if I burnt them?

This website is still growing, in the past few years it has increased in size a great deal and there have been many, many corrections made. However, I am still not done, there is more to come. I hope you will stay a while and check this place out. Thus far I have been able to provide a website that is advertising/pop-up-free and viewable by people of all ages and sensitivities. I won’t pretend that it is all rollicking good times and free from dull moments, but after surfing the web in the past few years I guess that it does okay if compared to other websites, especially those that are even less-exciting.

I wrote all of these web pages on my own after spending the summer of 2002 learning to write HTML. I’m still learning more and I’m still sort of proud that I was able to pick it up on my own. Yet that does make me responsible for all the typos, grammatical mistakes and other errors. I ask that you forgive me for, as some people would say, I never got a proper education on account of how I was an Art major in college.

When I first started this website I had planned that one page would lead to another in a sort of path that leads to the gallery. But all the various aspects of the site have made it necessary to have a few different routes to navigate easily about the place. You can follow the buttons at the bottom of these introductory pages and end up at the gallery, or go to the “contents” page which should have a link to just about every other page. Take whatever route you like, have fun!

I was very concerned about the size of this website when I launched it. I spent many long hours paring away at the various pages trying to keep it as small as possible. But over the past year all that has gone out the window and this website has almost doubled in size. But I suspect that it has just about reached its full size, I’m going to start rotating some of the older items out.

I hope you like my website! I’ve really enjoyed the past few years and the fine people I’ve met because of this crazy project. I hope that you will drop me an Email to let me know what you think of it all!

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I swore I would never have a website,
the ludditte in me speaking for the rest of the committee.

Yet here I am...
???????????

THE FEATHERLESS CHICKEN!!!!!!!!

At times I feel like this picture looks, and sometimes I even look like this picture looks. This is a real chicken, alive and well and walking about with no feathers!!! Who knows, with genetic splicing, loss of the ozone layer and all the great chemicals in the environment, people may soon come with feathers!!!

Ain't this a great age to be alive in???
It sure beats the alternative!

ABOUT THE MUSIC

As you move through this site you should be hearing a different piece of music for almost every page. If the music ends and you want to hear it again merely click your "refresh" button. I will try to remember to put a short note at the bottom of each page with the title and any thoughts about the music on that page. The piece for this page is called "Seco", so-called because it was the second piece I wrote after I started using some music notation software that I got from a friend. Each progressive edit had a shorter name; it went from "Dave's second piece" to "Seco" over the course of a few days.
Unless otherwise noted all the music at this website is by me.
