Drums!
In 1986 I made some ceramic drums. 5 years later I scraped a deer hide and stretched the heads. I have included a short recording of each so that you can hear what a ceramic drum sounds like. The have a very "bright" sound in my opinion.
For the recordings all of the drums were struck with a tympany mallet, perhaps you have seen them, they are like a drumstick with a soft white pom-pom on the end.

Drum #1(left) This one is an extruded tube 27 ½ in. h. Click here to hear it. As you can hear it has a nice bright percussive (well, it is a drum!) quality about it. Drum #2(right) is 8 in. h. Click here to hear it. It is also made from extruded clay. |

About the Lack of Music
I thought that since you would be clicking to hear what the drums sound like I would not add music to this page.
