Welcome to my Gallery!

I consider this to be the gallery entrance. I want to say right away that many of the things that you will see aren’t what some people consider “fine art;” a highly subjective matter, personal tastes being the deciding factor.

Often, when creating a piece, my aim wasn’t to make something “pretty” but something “interesting.” Often this means that my work may make you say “huh” more than “ooooh.”

If you want to see works that look like the old masters, go look in a museum (I’ve listed several on my “Links” page). If you want to see something that you don’t see every day, especially not in a museum, this is the place.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the old masters (and the new ones as well). I spend a lot of time looking at them and I love going to museums. It is just that I decided a long time ago that I wasn’t going to paint like Titian, I was going to paint like Dave Cofell, I wasn’t going to sculpt like Michelangelo, I was going to sculpt like Dave Cofell, I wasn’t going to print like Albrecht Durer, I was gonna do it my way. I get inspiration from the old masters but I don’t try to copy them.

I know I couldn't make art like them even if I wanted to, there's something about those old masters, they are so old and masterful.

I don’t use this as an excuse to just slap something together and put a price tag on it. Actually, most of the work you will see in the gallery had a fair amount of forethought involved and very little of it is for sale. What I'm saying is that my attitude is one of "Hey, take a look at this!" rather than "Hey, wanna buy this?"

Well, enough preface, it’s time to move on. Grab some wine and cheese and move on into the "Main Hall".
I hope you like some of it, but most of all I hope you find it interesting.

When People ask what this is I always tell them it's a chair.

About The Music:
"1st Cuppa The Day" was written in 2001 using Finale Notepad. The name came from my friend Bruce Walters who commented after hearing it for the first time that it sounded like the first cup of coffee in the morning.

WARNING!!!
If you enter this Gallery you will hear music you haven't heard before and may see things that are not like a lot of things you have seen before! If you start feeling unusual go lay in a fetal position while watching TV and it will pass.
